Castle Rock Arabians is situated in the foothills of Mt. Diablo State Park in Walnut Creek, California, near Castle Rock Park.

Directions to Ranch
1350 Castle Rock Road, located on the left side of the road about 500 feet before Castle Rock Park (the end of the road). Our sign is clearly visible for several hundred yards as you come up the road. Parking is available in the large Castle Rock Park staging area across the street and about 50 feet ahead. Please do not park in our driveway our horses and kids ride there.
From downtown Walnut Creek, take Ygnacio Valley Rd toward Mt. Diablo and turn right on Oak Grove Road. (This is the last cross street before going over the hill to Clayton Road.) Continue on Oak Grove Road through about 5 stop signs and you will come to a "roundabout" a circular intersection. Go through the roundabout and the street changes names to Castle Rock Road. Proceed on this road past North Gate High School, go another mile up the road. See directions above.

Learning to ride
For centuries, riding horses has always been a fascination to humans. Learning to ride is a joyful and exciting experience.
No other animal in history has had more impact on our lives than the horse. Countries were explored and cities were founded on the back of a horse. The horse has plowed our fields and delivered our mail. They have provided sport, moved merchandise and gave their lives in our wars. In doing so the horse became a companion and faithful friend.
The Pioneers depended on the power of the horse to climb the Sierra Nevada and cross the wild rivers to settle the west. Not only did this wonderful animal face the rigors of the trek but since then has adapted to the new challenges he has faced. The gentle horses and ponies at our ranch enjoy being ridden and have won the hearts of children that visit us.
At Castle Rock Arabians we introduce horseback riding to young people through our camp and riding lesson experiences. Through this introduction, the camper takes the first step in a lifelong journey of love and understanding for the horse—and at Castle Rock Arabians we provide a safe environment for the camper to develop the skills, discipline and determination to excel in the sport of riding.
